Artistic Filters
This lesson is useful for turning an image
of a specific person Bob into a generic illustration a man.

Symmetry
Though we are using flowers in this lesson,
you can use this procedure on any object
that is radially symmetrical.
You don’t want something
that is perfectly symmetrical, though.
The deviations from symmetry
are what make the process work.

HOLES
How do you make one photo show
through a hole or shape in another image?
Multi-Layer Masks
A wonderful technique for getting
a layer mask effect in Elements.
(Elements doesn’t have layer masks).
This technique can be used to mask
multiple layers with the same layer.

Styles
We are going to show you how
to apply styles to an image,
as a frame, but these techniques
will work just as well on buttons,
or Web interface parts.
Styles can be applied to (large) type,
and to shapes made with the shape tools.

Skewing, distorting, and applying perspective change
the geometry of a layer,
selection, or a shape.
Skewing lets you slant things
vertically and horizontally;
distorting lets you stretch things
in any direction;
applying perspective makes
things appear to go backward
or forward in three-dimensions.
