Goals for this Unit:

Learn about the basic principles of photographic composition, techniques, and elements of design through the use of color digital images and computer software. Students use photo images, clipart and a computer to edit, modify, manipulate, enhance, optimize and print their own original projects. Students also create, edit and fix digital photos to produce high quality images.

Goals for Session 2:

Learn the power of layers is they allow you to work on one element of your image without disturbing the others. In the Layers Palette: Layer lock options, Show/Hide layer, Link/Unlink layer, Highlighted layer is active layer, New fill or adjustment layer, New layer, Trash a layer, Layer MORE Menu.
Learn to add layers in a variety of ways: By creating new layers or turning selections into layers. By converting a background to a regular layer or adding a background to an image or by pasting selections into the image or by using a type or a shape tool. Finally, you may click the New Layer button in the Palette.

Goals for Session 3:

Learn the RECIPES Palette including: Design Web Graphics, Print & Share, Fix Color & Brightness, Fun Stuff, Add Elements, Common Issues, Enhance Text, Retouch Photo, Resize and Rotate, all located in Window > How To.
Learn the ENHANCE Menu including: QUICK FIX, Auto Levels, Auto Contrast, Auto Color Correction, Fill Flash, Adjust Lighting, Adjust Color, Adjust Brightness/Color, Color Variations, Levels.

Goals for Session 4:

Learn to use the Liquify Gallery so you can twist portions of an image, reflect an image, go from geometry to fluidity and add a variety of interesting and unique effects. To use this, go to Window > Filter > Distort > Liquify.

Goals for Session 5:

Learn about many transforming options: scale, rotate, skew, distort, and apply perspective.
Learn about fixing imported images.

Session 6 is a comprehensive review for the Post Test in Session 7.

Students have projects about America, the US Presidents, their native homeland and more.
