Goals for this UNIT:

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences
defines a short film as 40 minutes or less

Visual or special effects are intended to heighten the realism or visual excitement of the film.
They can be added either during filming, or afterward during the production process.
Some examples include fake weather, explosions, split screen, picture-in-picture,
superimposing, and computer renderings of backgrounds.

Slick Transitions & Effects is a collection of plug-ins for iMovie that provide transitions and effects.
Once available only in expensive and complex digital editing programs,
these transitions and effects are brought to you with iMovie's simplicity and ease of use.
There are currently ten volumes of Slick Transitions and Effects available.
Each volume contains over 50 transitions and effects. We will try to learn about as many as possible.
